Mr. Mydul Islam successfully completed his master's thesis, "Terahertz Metamaterial-based Microfluidic Chip Fabrication and Measurement for Bio-sensing Applications." His research focused on developing advanced metamaterial-based sensors integrated with microfluidics to enhance biomolecular detection in aqueous media using terahertz (THz) frequencies. The research demonstrates significant advancements in sensitivity and addresses challenges related to nanotechnological research and development. While his work is clear and precise, it could benefit from a deeper exploration of its background and motivations.
As part of the research, numerous standard processes were carried out in the cleanroom with great diligence and very good quality, which are technologically complex. Additionally, soft imprint-based manufacturing approaches for the microfluidic layers and their integration at the chip level were developed completely new and independently. The technological results are excellent.
Overall, I rated the research and paper as Very Good, recognizing its high quality and innovative contributions to the field of High-Frequency Technology and nanofabrication for nano bio-sensing applications.
